Warranty

First Impressions International (FII) warrants only to the original customer (purchaser) that the products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of shipment/delivery of products. The customer shall be obligated to promptly report any failure to conform to this warranty in writing to FII within the warranty period provided above. FII’s sole obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its option, the defective products. NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARE MADE WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Finish Warranty: First Impressions products (excluding Living Finish) are warrantied to be free from tarnishing, flaking, and discoloring for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase. FII warrants that any parts manufactured with the Limited Lifetime Finish (PVD) will be free from tarnishing, flaking and discoloring for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase as long as the hardware has been installed in a non-coastal environment. If installed within 15 miles of a coastal area it is warranted for one year only. All FII products must be maintained according to the care instructions and remain in possession of the original Purchaser.

Living Finishes: Atmospheric conditions can cause staining and alkaline etching that varies by geography. In addition, the frequency of use will cause the finish to gracefully age in appearance. These finish changes are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered by this warranty. Rather, they are indicative of normal wear and tear and reflect the essence of a living finish. Due to the nature of living finish products, they will wear over time and may already have begun the process before reaching your home. No finish warranty is offered on FII living finish products, which are designed to age and improve over time. Living finishes include raw brass, oil rubbed bronze, stainless steel, other non-lacquered finishes and natural wood.

Exclusions from Warranty: All products are manufactured from the finest quality materials; however, these products are susceptible to indentation and imperfections due to specific processes, the malleability of the material and the elements of human intervention when crafting the product. Although our quality control safeguards protect us against shipping products of unacceptable quality, an imperfection or surface blemish may be considered the highest quality standard obtainable on a particular product. The provisions of this limited warranty do not apply to products: (i) used for the purposes for which they are not designed or intended; (ii) which have been repaired or altered without FII’s prior written consent; (iii) which have been subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence, or unreasonable or extraordinary use or maintenance, including use in a commercial application; (iv) which have been improperly stored, installed, maintained, or operated; (v) which have been used in violation of written instructions provided by FII to Customer; (vi) which have been subjected to improper temperature, humidity, or other environmental conditions; (vii) which have been affected by normal wear and tear; (viii) which has been installed contrary to any of FII’s written installation guides; (ix) any product having a defect due to use of paints, solvents, or other chemicals is not covered by this Warranty (see Care Instructions); (x) FII product that is used in combination with knobs, levers or trim from other manufacturers and designated for use with locks or latches are not covered by this warranty; (xi) which, based on FII’s examination, do not disclose to FII’s satisfaction nonconformance to the warranty. This warranty is not transferable.

The following costs and expenses are not covered by the provisions of this limited warranty: (i) labor costs for the refinishing of products or installation; (ii) shipping and freight expenses required to return products to FII; (iii) normal maintenance; (iv) loss or damage to any material which is not sold by FII; and (v) economic losses. In addition, the provisions of this warranty are not applicable to anything other than defects in FII’s material (products only) or workmanship.
Warranty Claims: Any product believed to be defective as covered by this warranty may not be returned without prior written authorization from FII or FII’s authorized Dealer or Retailer. All claims must be made within (30) thirty days from the discovery of the alleged defect(s). Each claim must be in writing, briefly describe the defect, be accompanied by a proof of purchase and be received during the period of the warranty as defined herein. The claimant must provide to his or her FII dealer or retailer other information and evidence reasonably required by FII and, if requested, must permit inspection of the product by FII or its representatives. If, after investigation, FII determines that the claim is valid, the remedy will be performed by or on behalf of FII. Limitation of Liabilities Except as expressly provided in this warranty, (a) FII MAKES NO WARRANTIES, AND DISCLAIMS ALL, WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS AND GUARANTEES (WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY), INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND (b) FII SHALL NOT BE OBLIGATED OR LIABLE FOR LABOR OR OTHER COSTS RELATED TO INSTALLATION, REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OR FOR LOSS OF, OR DAMAGE TO, ANY MATERIAL WHICH IS NOT SOLD BY FIRST IMPRESSIONS INTERNATIONAL, LLC. FII SHALL NOT, IN ANY EVENT, BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES SUFFERED BY PURCHASER. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LIMITATIONS ON THE LENGTH OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, AND THEREFORE SOME OR ALL OF THE LAST SENTENCE UNDER THE ABOVE HEADING, “REMEDIES” AND THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING TWO SENTENCES MAY NOT APPLY.

CONSUMER PRODUCTS. With respect to “consumer products” as defined under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (“MMWA”), the following statements are made. (a) Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. IF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY IS PROVIDED UNDER THE MMWA, IT IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY PROVIDED ABOVE. (b) Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. (c) This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
